Happy Healthy Me
Happy Healthy Me provides opportunities for young children to explore nutrition and physical activity concepts in a fun and interactive way.
The early years are the most important for nutrition because it is during this period that lifestyle eating habits are formed. It is easier to encourage healthy eating habits during initial behavior development than to alter existing behavior. Through the curriculum, 4 to 6 year-olds will make the connection between good nutrition, physical activity and a healthy body.
Children will be able to recognize the MyPlate and know that it is a guide for healthy eating and exercise. They will be able to identify and sort the five food groups. They will also know they need physical activity every day.
This curriculum incorporates song, movement and reading into making the connection between food and health.
