State Leadership Conference

The annual 4-H State Leadership Conference brings together youth from across  California for a four-day leadership training, networking, and learning experience.

Who can attend

  • Youth ages 13-19
  • Adults are invited to apply to chaperone this event
  • If you are not currently enrolled in 4-H, you can still attend! Contact Jenna Colburn at jcolburn@ucanr.edu or (530) 750-1336

What you will learn and do

  • Advanced leadership training
  • Network and share ideas with other 4-H'ers from across the state
  • Experiential education on leadership development, civic engagement, college admissions and other 4-H project areas
  • Experience a slice of college life: live in residence halls, eat in the dining commons, and participate in educational sessions, many of which are taught by University of California faculty and staff.

Leadership Washing Focus (LWF) July 15-20, 2018
Leadership WF
Leadership Washington Focus is the only national leadership development experience designed exclusively for 4-Hers ages 12-14. It prepared 4-H Youth for the future by teaching them leadership skills using an experiential learning model based in 4-H curriculum and the living classroom of Washington D.C. 
 
Registion will open mid-October 2017
*Must be 12 years old by first day of travel 
 
Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF)
June 16-23 (Conference only)
June 16-26 (Conference + Extended Trip)
Citizenship Washington Focus is designed for 4-H youth between the ages of 15-19, CWF offers a life-changing level for themselves and their communities. Using the classroom of Washington D.C. participants will learn how our national government works as well as experience the grandeur of our nation's capital. The extended trips continues the learning experience to Gettysburg and Philadelphia, PA and Baltimore, MD.

California Focus
 

Experience California's government in action by participating in the legislative, political, and judicial processes. California Focus combines hands-on participation in workshops, debates, simulations, tours, and fun activities.
